Let us take advantage of winter temperatures to disappear in dark rooms and enjoy the best films of the moment.

Attachment: The jewel of emotions

This very beautiful French film (by Carine Tardieu, with Valeria Bruni Tedeschi, Pio Marmaï and Vimala Pons) is interested in the life of Sandra, a 50 -year -old very attached to her independence. One morning, his neighbor, about to give birth, confides his elder custody before leaving for the hospital. Sandra will establish a relationship with this little boy and get attached to this family who lives on the other side of the landing.

Why did we like it? We let ourselves be picked by this slice of life which deals with human relations and love in all its forms.

Queer: an extraordinary experience

Adapted from William S. Burroughs’s novel, Weird The wanderings of Lee, an American expatriate in Mexico in the 1950s, follows, he wandered in search of a being to love. Until the day he flashes on the young alleron. His life then is tinged with another flavor …

Why did we like it? Daniel Craig has indeed tidy the costume of James Bond. The character of Lee, openly queer, contrasts with the macho side of 007 and it is not to displease us. We really liked the soundtrack and the psychedelic side of this quest for existential dimension. For sure, Weird (from the same director as Call me by name), a dramatic comedy by Luca Guadagnino (also with Drew Starkey and Jason Schwartzman) is out of the ordinary!

I’m still here: the punch movie

In 1971 in Rio, the population trembled under the terror of the military dictatorship. The Paiva family seems relatively far from this climate of tension. The youngest of the 5 children play on the beach, while the elders live their life as a teenager. One day, however, men of the regime ring at the door and take Rubens, the father …

Why did we like it? I’m still there This is one of those strong films that remain in mind. Inspired by a true story, the story of the struggle led for decades by this family to shed light on what happened to the father is overthrowing and freezing. He takes us between tenderness, laughs, dread, all, carried by Fernanda Torres who will compete in the Oscars on March 3 in the best actress category for this overwhelming role. A Walter Salles drama, with Fernanda Torres, Selton Mello, Fernanda Montenegro.

The secret of Khéops: an archaeological quest

The treasure of Pharaoh Khéops is the object of all lusts. Christian Robinson, an archaeologist with unorthodox methods, practically devoted his life to it. So when he discovers, during excavations in Cairo, that this famous treasure could have been brought back to France by Napoleon during the Egyptian campaign, he embarked on a large investigation through Paris, without suspecting that malicious people could have views of this unprecedented discovery.

Why did we like it? This is the film to see if you want a treasure hunt! A bit like in Da Vinci Code, The archaeologist (embodied by the earthy Fabrice Luchini) harvests clues that walk him in Paris, from the Louvre archives to the secret cabinets of Malmaison. Fun, without headache, with suspense: the perfect combo to relax. An adventure film by Barbara Schulz, with Fabrice Luchini and Julia Piaton.

Winter in Shokcho: introspective trip

SOO-HA, a 23-year-old girl, leads a quiet life to Sokcho, a small seaside town in South Korea, between her job in a small boarding school, her visits to her mother, fish merchant, and her boyfriend. The arrival of a French writer will shake up his daily life. Throughout their discussions, both will create a link, awakening questions about the life choices of the young South Korean.

Why did we like it? What a pleasure to immerse yourself in the winter atmosphere of this small town in South Korea nestled in the mountains, facing the sea. The kind of perfect place to recharge your batteries. We also really liked the small drawn forays that bring poetry and originality to this pretty quest for identity.

Winter in Sokcho, A drama by Koya Kamura, with Roschdy Zem and Bella Kim.

Memory of a snail: animated film for adults

Grace Pudel leads a peaceful existence with his twin brother and his father. This withdrawn little girl is passionate about snails, which she collects and considers friends. His balance shatters when his father dies. Grace is then separated from his brother and sent to the other end of Australia. From this ordeal, she will however draw a force and learn to open up to the world.

Why did we like it? Second feature film by Australian Adam Elliot, Memoirs of a snail Takes us in the melancholy memories of this snail collector. As in his previous film, Mary and MaxHe makes us melt with very endearing characters that we want to comfort.

We will go: the soothing road trip

At 80 years old and suffering from generalized cancer, Marie believes that she has the right to leave without suffering. She therefore takes her arrangements to go to Switzerland where we will accompany her. Only he has to announce this difficult decision to his son Bruno and his teenager granddaughter, Anna. But at the fateful moment, Mary renounces. The old lady invents a story of inheritance that leads the trio and a caregiver she met the same morning towards Geneva, in the old mobile home of the grandfather.

Why did we like it? It is the way of combining gravity and lightness that seduced us in this family road trip. Thanks to well -placed touches of humor, Is ira evokes the subject of the end of life unanswered for the atmosphere. These little improvised holidays push each character to grow, under the benevolent eye of other family members. It is obviously very moving, but we come out of it smiling. A dramatic comedy by Enya Baroux, with Hélène Vincent, Pierre Lottin, David Ayala.

Vermiglio: Italian drama

This Italian drama takes us to a small village lost in the mountains, Vermiglio. As the Second World War was coming to an end, a Sicilian soldier comes to seek refuge there. The balance of the teacher’s family is disturbed when this newcomer falls in love with the eldest girl.

Why did we like it? We travel in time through this romance. Its slow pace makes it possible to observe the daily life of mountain villagers from the 1940s. We discover their organization and their concerns, while listening to children’s comments on adult decisions and acts. Often, they just see! A Drama by Maura Delpero, with Giuseppe de Domenico and Martina Scrinzi.
