” After 10 years spent at the management of ICI—CCN, I am heading towards new artistic and human adventures.
I would like to thank everyone who came to take part in the HERE project for a while.
The entire CCN team, public partners, artists, audiences, researchers, students, technicians, amateurs, the curious, friends, etc… all of you have allowed me to move forward and continually question the question with which I arrived in Montpellier in 2015: “Where does the choreography fit in? »
We did not answer it (so much the better!) but each hypothesis shared made it possible to deploy a field of incredible richness, each time opening up new desires to project ourselves together.
The body in movement, constantly juggling between the political and the poetic, inventing languages and spaces that are troubled but welcoming, pushes us to a common and necessary elevation to inhabit a world that multiple cynicisms are eating away with ardor.
I am happy and proud to have devoted 10 years to this adventure and to have done it with you.

Coming from the visual arts and fashion, Christian Rizzo has been director of ICI-Centre Chorégraphique National de Montpellier Occitanie since 2015. He is also a dancer, choreographer, musician, opera set designer. Christian Rizzo is leaving his position as artistic director of the Montpellier Choreographic Center on January 1, 2025.
