Why are the EVJFs a headache that we would be avoided well?

For a day or a weekend, the future bride spends a group moment to bury her life as a single. The idea is nice on paper. The problem is that this tradition sometimes takes excessive proportions, since it costs in discussions, energy and money.

When Evjf rhymes with madness of quantities

Not always easy to organize the perfect event which will appeal both to the bride and his guests. The whole thing is to limit excesses because, supporting experiences, the simplest solution is often the best.

An EVJF, but at what price?

What often comes up in the negative points mentioned by guests to such festivities? The price, which is substantial. Why is it?

• Because the future bride often dreams of a weekend abroad … not so democratic!
• Because the activities are expensive and/or numerous (dance lessons, parachute jump, exhibitions, demos, brunch, we do not skimp on anything …).
• Because the accommodation has its low price.
• Because the guests make comings and goings. And if the number of participants varies over the EVJF, how do we divide the final note? And the cost attributed to the bride we want to invite? By the number of participants? Activity? By the number of participants per activity? What if one is with a last minute? Even with applications like Tricout, it often happens that one or the other person feels injured.

An environmental cost also

Beyond the price, at a time when everyone cares at their environmental scale, a 2-day city trip is not the solution to be imposed on everyone. It is obviously possible to organize an eco-responsible EVJF, which will mark the spirits, while respecting the planet, but it will then be necessary to ignore certain points: no more trips to Gogo from one side to the other of the country. Or in this case, on board public transport, even if it means reducing the number of activities to do on the weekend, since the train is not that fast …

A headache for witnesses

The other big point that is debated: the date. It must suit the queen of the day, obviously, but also to the guests who already have obligations, perhaps children … and these are the witnesses managing the meeting places, the departure times and the agenda of all …

Our tips for a successful EVJF

To facilitate the task of witnesses and reduce costs, we made a small guide in 7 steps:

1. Realize a survey in which you offer a maximum of 2-3 weekends. Choose the dates that are suitable for the greatest number and explain that each one is free to come only for one or the other activity in the event of unavailability, but that it will then be necessary to manage their own time and movements.
2. Make a survey with several price forks so that no one has unpleasant surprises.
3. Organize 2 paid activities (including a good restaurant, for example). For the rest, remember to cook yourself, you can also make a Spanish hostel, that each brings what it appreciates …
4. Select your dates well. Avoid long weekends and school holidays, housing prices ignite these periods and lodgings, hostels … quickly display.
5. Some activities cost almost nothing and are great: a treasure hunt, a “house” escape game, a walk, a public barbecue in a place reserved for this, a creative workshop where you buy the equipment yourself …
6. If you wish, divide the weekend into 2 parts. On Friday evening, between witnesses in a smaller accommodation or with one of you. Saturday and Sunday with the rest of the group.
7. Another option is only one day, including evening. We always think of “EVJF weekend”, but a well-tied day will cost less and could be just as rich in fun.

Obviously, an EVJF does not always rhyme with trouble and big expenses, but there is a tendency to think these weekends as a vacation, with trips and astronomical budgets imposed. It is however good to remember that a marriage in itself already has a certain cost: The gift, the outfit, the trip, the possible accommodation … are sums to be taken into consideration.
