6 out of 10 Belgians fear a third world war – women today

62.1% of Belgians imagine a third war to arrive.

An exclusive survey reveals that 62.1% of Belgians fear that a third World War is bursting.

This survey was carried out online by Kantar Insights Belgium from March 22 to 28, 2025, for Lifetime,, Thing,, Trends-Tendances,, Trends,, Channel Z AND Sunday With 1,060 Belgians aged 18 or over. And the results are arresting.

A nuclear war

They are 63% of Belgians to see in this third world war a nuclear affront. This feeling is based on current events in Ukraine. “The nuclear powers who currently take shape, ally, distant themselves, approach or clash our compatriots,” reveals the investigation of our colleagues.

Belgians in combat?

Although many citizens are concerned about an upcoming war, the question “if war broke out, would you be ready to take up arms?”, They respond mainly no (64%).

Compulsory military service for soon?

Regarding the return of compulsory military service, the question is debated. 48% of Belgians respond in the affirmative, 40% oppose it, for 12% of undecided.
